95.5 WFMS Friends and Neighbors

The 95.5 WFMS “Friends & Neighbors” program allows non-profits, community organizations, public schools, and charitable organizations to receive on-line and on air exposure and promotion for their events, fundraisers and awareness campaign. Our goal is to help those that are making Indianapolis area communities a better place to live, work and enjoy

June 21-23

63rd Hazelwood Fish Fry

Starts at 5pm

Join the community for an awesome event… the 63rd Annual Hazelwood Fish Fry, Thursday-Saturday, June 21-23! There will be live music, track events, tractor pulls, vendor booths and much more… and let’s not forget the AMAZING food, so come hungry! To conclude the festivities, on Saturday night, there will be a firework display at 10pm. Hope to see you there!

Kristen’s Amazing Race

Starts at 11:00am 

Come out to help us support Kristen Bannister and raise money for her medical expenses. Kristen has battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia twice, contracted encephalitis due to chemotherapy, and currently in is a wheelchair requiring intense therapy. There will be a motorcycle benefit ride from 11am-1pm with registration starting at 10am, a pulled pork dinner at 4pm, and an Amazing Race theme scavenger hunt at 6pm. Additionally there will be raffles and other fun activities. Hope to see you there!

The 7th annual 24 Indianapolis will be held at Butler University. The event hosts over 400 riders and 200 walkers, who will raise funds for the IU Health Simon Cancer Center and Franciscan Health Cancer Center. The 2.7 mile loop runs through Butler Tarkington Neighborhood. The goal of 24 Foundation is to inspire and engage communities to make an immediate impact on the lives of people affected by cancer.

Raising funds for Little Angel Gowns.  Little Angel Gowns makes burial gowns out of wedding gowns for babies who have gone to their heavenly home.  There is never a charge for the burial gowns, the funds go to help with shipping costs.

6th Annual Burger Battle for Building Tomorrow

Join the community for a day of burger tasting, and while you’re at it you will be helping support Indy-based organization, Building Tomorrow.  All proceeds from this Burger Battle will go toward helping secure children with a safe, permanent and quality place to learn. So please join the fun on Georgia Street where you will enjoy and vote on sliders from your favorite Indy restaurants, as two restaurants will be named champion!… So come hungry!

11th Annual Fire and Life Safety Open House

Health and safety advocates are invited to share their vital messages with our community during this day. The Sugar Creek Township Fire Station averages between 1000 and 1200 people from the community who come to have a good time and learn about new health and safety behaviors, and you could be one of them! This is a free and fun filled family day.

The Tour De Cure is an event where no matter what road you take, you will be joining thousands of people from around the country who have the same passion as you to fight diabetes and its burdens.  All riders, runners and walkers will be treated to lunch and a fantastic celebration party for all to enjoy.  The Tour De Cure is bigger and better than ever with options for everyone.  This is the only cycling event that takes place on the Indianapolis Motor  Speedway!
