Barbie has been around since 1959, but she’s finally getting a live action movie. No word yet on what the plot of the movie will be, but Mattel films has decided to will portray the doll. It’s non other than Margot Robbie.
You know Margot from films like Suicide Squad and I, Tonya. She does a great job transforming into characters for roles. In fact, she will play Sharon Tate in an upcoming Quentin Tarentino film later this year called Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Margot will also have a produce roll for the Barbie movie. She told Variety, “I’m so honored to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide. I can’t imagine better partners than Warner Bros and Mattel to bring this film to the big screen.”
