Well, it finally happened. The IMPD made their first arrest of a scooter operator for an OWI. The motorized Bird and Lime scooters are indeed considered vehicles. So, if you’ve been drinking, don’t get on one.

A 21-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night around 11:30 PM for running a red light. It happened at the intersection of East Washington Street and North Pennsylvania Street according to Fox 59.

An officer happened to be at the scene and was forced to slam on his brakes to avoid crashing. The operator was placed under arrest for OWI.

Moral of the story…don’t drink and scoot.
