What Indy Is Doing About All The Potholes

If you’ve been outside, surely you’ve noticed a pothole or twelve. Indianapolis is plagued with these small unfinished basements in the road, especially while the weather is constantly changing. The Department of Public Works explained that Indy and its streets are old and that this is to be expected with our climate. Complaints to the city regarding potholes are on the rise.

DPW prioritizes main roads over residential streets. Right now potholes are being mended with lukewarm cold patches, but those patches are not made to last and could wear away or pop out. The roads that are being temporarily fixed are those that have the most complaints. DPW says that the temporary fix is all we have until hot asphalt plants open up.

Stay tuned for an announcement from the city today regarding a new initiative for future road maintenance.
