Surely you’ve see those somber commercials of pets in kennels that desperately need adopted. Much of that need comes from overpopulation… and today is all about preventing that overpopulation. It’s NATIONAL SPAY DAY!

By spaying your pet, you not only stop contributing to overpopulation, but there are health benefits for your furry friends! According to ASPCA, spaying prevents uterine infections and breast tumors while neuters prevent testicular cancer and prostate issues.

If you’re looking to spay or neuter your fur baby, one place to check out in Indy is FACE Low Cost Spay and Neuter!

If you want to help in another way, you can always make donations to animal shelters like Southside Animal Shelter and Indiana Animal Care Services to help cover the costs of spaying and neutering.

Looking to adopt? IACS is still offering $14 adoptions. These animals will already be spayed and neutered when you take them home with you.

Potato wants to remind you that it’s the last week for $14 adoptions and she can’t wait to go home with you!Stop by from 1am-6pm today and meet Potato!
