I basically wore out my double VHS copy of “Titanic.” It’s definitely safe to say I was obsessed with the movie. And I was today years old when I found out that Reba McEntire was the first choice to play the Unsinkable Molly Brown.

She would have NAILED it. Although, to her credit, Kathy Bates also nailed the role. But as soon as I read the article on Popculture.com I was like yep, perfect choice.

Turns out Reba had to pass on the role because of prior commitments. She told Andy Cohen, “We were on tour and I had a lot of people on the payroll and we had these three months to do the movie. And then they got behind on scheduling and said, ‘No, we’re going to have to move it in this time.’ So we couldn’t reschedule all the arenas and everything.”

Makes sense, and good for her for taking care of her people. But I can’t help but wonder what could have been…
