Purdue University revealed earlier this year that they were working on a memorial for #1 Tyler Trent. The super fan passed away from cancer on January 1.

True to their word, the gate into Ross-ade stadium has been renamed the Tyler Trent Student Gate.

“The plaque will tell future generations who he was, why this gate bears his name and what he will always mean to Purdue history,” Purdue President Mitch Daniels told WISH TV.

On top of the newly renamed gate, Purdue has also created a scholarship in Trent’s name. It’s called the Tyler Trent Courage and Resilience Award. The first award winner of the full-tuition scholarship is a freshman from Michigan.
