Q: This Indiana State Fair staple was first served in Indiana in 1904.

A: Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich

Nick Freinstein, the son of German immigrants, opened Nick’s Kitchen in Huntington, Indiana which first served the breaded tenderloin sandwich in 1904, which is based on the German weiner schnitzel, which of course is veal, but here in Indiana, pork was more readily available, so there ya go.
