Decided to mix things up a bit, and try a new tail gate recipe for tonight’s football game. My usual go-to is Rice Krispies Treats, but with my secret ingredient. (Not so secret that I won’t SHARE! 🙂 Simply replace the marshmallows with 3/4 of a jar of marshmallow cream! (Then grab a spoon and finish off the jar. It’s a win-win!) I promise, it’s a game changer!!!
The marshmallow cream makes the treats extra gooey and they disappear at every gathering I attend in minutes. Just talking about them makes me hungry, they’re THAT good. However, I thought a new recipe would be nice for a change, so I did a google search and found something called…wait for it…Bacon Crackers.
Ummm, they had me at BACON.
I also loved the simplicity of the recipe as it only calls for a handful of ingredients:
Buttery town or club crackers, Bacon, Brown Sugar, Cayenne Pepper, Black Pepper
Want to give it a try?
Directions:
Lay crackers on foil or parchment paper on a cookie sheet
Cut strips of bacon (don’t use thick cut bacon, it takes longer to cook) to cover the length of the cracker.
Sprinkle 1 tsp brown sugar on top of bacon (be generous, it keeps bacon from curling)
Lightly sprinkle with cayenne & black pepper
Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees
