Indiana Hospital Potentially Exposed Patients To HIV And Hepatitis

An Indiana hospital is facing a lawsuit for failing to properly sterilize their surgical equipment. According to the Indy Star, more than 1,000 patients have potentially been exposed to HIV and hepatitis.

So far, one patient has brought forth a lawsuit against Goshen Health, but their hoping to turn it into a class action suit. Apparently there is a multistep cleaning process for cleaning tools, but one of the technicians failed to perform one of the steps. This occurred between April and September.

The hospital claims there’s a small chance that patients were exposed to HIV and Hepatitis B and/or C.
