Q & A with Tammy Lively

What inspired you to get into radio?   WLS. I was in the 7th grade when I heard my first superjock, the great Larry Lujack. I wanted THAT job! He was having so much fun, and in turn, I did too. It made me feel happy listening to Lujack, Little Tommy, and John (Records IS my middle name) Landecker..

Are you married?   Yes I am :) I'm crazy in love with my husband of 27 years, and we have two children. Our daughter Shannon is 25 and married, and our son Austin is 22. And yes, I love my son-in-law. His name is Nathan, and he loves my baby girl.

What's your husband's name?   Hmmm...depends on who you ask. I call him Warren, almost every one else calls him Alan. It's a long story.

What song title describes your life?   "Blessed" by Martina McBride, because I am.

Any pets?   We have an 10 year old basset hound named Bob, and a orange tiger cat named Tommy Kitty. They get along just fine.

Are you a sports fan? Uh, YEAH. Fall is for football...period. I am a huge college fan (GO IRISH!) and I loves me some Colts!! Favorite moment on the air? I got to interview Coach Holtz before the Orange Bowl once in '92. Good times.

What country artist have you most enjoyed interviewing? Jo Dee Messina...she's good people. Very down to earth.

Do you have a favorite country artist? Wow...I love Vince, George Strait, Patty Loveless, Miranda Lambert, Jamey Johnson....I've got lots of favorites :)

What's your favorite holiday? Christmas...hands down. I love the gift buying, wrapping, decorating, baking, parties, family traditions...all of it. People seem kinder at Christmas time, and I like that.

What's your guilty pleasure? I'm a huge fan of Top Chef and Project Runway....which is interesting, because I love to cook, but I have zero sense of style.

What would listeners be most surprised to know about you? I'm not proud of this...but I swear....a lot. I've tried to quit but it's so $%!@ hard!

Any hobbies? I love to cook....and eat. Is eating considered a hobby? I should add I'm also a professional dieter.

Favorite vacation destination? Las Vegas. The greatest restaurants in the world, terrific shows, and craps. I do enjoy playing craps.

Any secret crushes? Not so secret...my husband knows I love Vince Gill and Don Draper (Jon Hamm)

Favorite tv shows? Well, I already mentioned I love Top Chef and Project Runway. I also enjoy Mad Men, Dexter, Modern Family and Ice Road Truckers.

What's the best thing about being in radio? It sure beats working for a living!
