A free Growing Thru Gardening Expo will be held at Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie on Saturday October 12 from 8 to 4. The event will be open to the public; no advance registration is required.
Experts in their fields will speak about Seed Starting, Heirloom Gardens, Gardening in Harmony with Nature, Edible Landscaping, E-Flora, an online resource describing over 60,000 Indiana plants, and Creating a Prairie. There will also be demonstrations, information booths, Make and Take projects, and an activity area for children. Door prizes will be awarded at various times throughout the day. Silent auctions of gifts donated by local businesses and individuals will be conducted in the morning and again in the afternoon.

The program is presented by the Master Gardeners of Delaware County, an organization that extends Purdue University’s Extension Service to the public.

Minnetrista’s several gardens present opportunities to spend some peaceful time outside. And, of course, the Farmers’ Market will be in the adjacent Minnetrista Orchard Shop area until noon. What a great way to spend a Saturday this fall!
