Warren's Ride

Warren Dressler is the Music Minister at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, located at 5171 W. Smokey Row Road in Greenwood. He was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma, and has had numerous surgeries and treatment in his battle with this disease. The church is having a combination motorcycle ride and family fun walk to raise awareness of this disease and raise funds for Melanoma research. Why don't you and your family participate? Indianapolis Soap Box Derby Kick-Off

It's the first race of the season for the Indianapolis Soap Box Derby and the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will be on-site to celebrate! Bring the family by and check out some great racing action! The races will be held at Wilber Shaw Memorial Hill, right behind Naval Avionics near 30th St. Races will start at 9am and last all day. Interested in getting your children involved? Then, this is your opportunity to come and check it out first-hand! Fun for the entire family, and the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will stop by from 12-1pm. Money raised from the races goes to upkeep of the track.

Trinity United Methodist Church's Fish Fry

The WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will be out gettin' mud on the tires and stoppin' by Trinity United Methodist Church's Fish Fry for dinner from 4-5pm. The church is located at 500 East North St. in Arcadia and will be serving from 4pm-7:30pm. Dan's Fish Fry will be preparing the fish, and this will be all you can eat with drinks, sides, and desserts too! Bring the family...bring your appettite....see ya there!

Coatesville Youth League Hog Roast

The Coatesville Youth League is having their annual hog roast and would love for you and your entire family to stop by! The event is going on Friday, from 5pm-10pm, and Saturday from 10am-10pm and features KD Stables Carnival rides, games, great food, free bingo, softball tournaments, live entertainment, a cornhole tournament, and more! Riley Hospital for Children Car Show

Hope to see you at the Riley Hospital for Children Car Show! This event will be held at Texas Roadhouse and will be a fun family event. The fun begins at 9 a.m. with registration and the silent auction. Silent auction items range from Colts memorabilia, racing memorabilia, to golf clubs, tools and spa packages. Texas Roadhouse also provides breakfast and lunch for all participants and spectators. Riley Hospital patients pick the top 3 cars along with a people's choice award. All proceeds from the car show go directly to Riley Hospital. Steve Stuart will stop by the event from 10-11am.

First Baptist Churchs Car, Truck, and Bike Show

Stop by First Baptist Church at 1109 East Columbus Street in Martinsville, and check out their first annual Car, Truck, and Bike Show! Registration will take place from 9am-12noon, and awards will be given at 3pm. All makes and models are welcome with trophies going to the Top 50. They will also have Best in Show, Best Paint, Best Engine, Pastor's Pick, and People's Choice. There will be door prizes, food, games, music, and much more! Steve Stuart will stop by from 12-1pm. Amo VFD Fish Fry

Bring your appettite and join Stu at Amo Elementary School for the annual Amo VFD Fish Fry. This is a huge 3 day event that kicks off on June 5th and wraps up on June 7th. Events during the fish fry include bingo, all types of children's games, old tractors, a vendor tent, baseball tourneys, and even a parade on Saturday! Stu will stop by from 5-6pm on Friday evening. Central Indiana Young Marines Car Wash

It's about time to get that car/truck of yours cleaned, wouldn't you say? Don't go to the carwash today, stop by Petro's Tires, located at Harding and Raymond on the southside, and let the Central Indiana Young Marines get your vehicle sparkling! The Young Marines will be washing cars, trucks, semis, or whatever you drive up in from 9am-3pm. All money raised will go to assisting members with the purchase of uniforms and sending members to summer camps, such as leadership camp or space camp. Troop 335 Scout Car Wash

You can get your car washed and help support Scout Troop 335 at the same time! The scouts will be holding a car wash in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Greenfield from 10am-3pm. Steve Stuart and the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will stop by from 2-3pm for the last hour, and we want it to be a big one! The money raised will go towards sending the scouts to camp, and pay for a trailor to haul equipment. Stop by and get your ride sparkling!

This 3 day fish fry goes from 11am-8pm daily (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and serves only the best Icelandic Cod, hand cut and hand breaded! Southport Masonic Lodge's Annual Fish Fry

The Southport Masonic Lodge is having their annual fish fry and you don't want to miss it! This is a huge 3 day event starting on Thursday, June 19th and running through Saturday, June 21st. Last year, the Southport Masonic Lodge served more than 2200 pounds of fish!!! The lodge will be serving from 11am-7pm all three days and offer drive-through service! The lodge is located at 5678 South East Street, which is just south of Epler on US 31. Steve Stuart will be on-sight cranking tunes and handing out WFMS goodie bags to all the folks who swing by on Friday, June 20th from 5pm-6pm. All money raised from the fish fry will assist in a variety of charities that the Southport Masonic Lodge supports.

Making Strides 2008

Hope to see you this morning at the Healthy Families of Hamilton County's Making Strides 2008 5K Walk/Run! The event will be held at the Noblesville Cross County Complex at Field Drive and Cumberland Road, next to White River Elementary. Packet pick-up and registration begins at 6:30am and the race begins at 8:00am. Prizes, vendors, and a 500 meter children's race will also be a part of the festivities. Hope you can join us!

58th Annual Clermont Rodeo

Saddle up and head over to the 58th Annual Clermont Rodeo at Lion's Club Park in Clermont! Your family can watch the cowboys/cowgirls show off their skills in all 7 traditional rodeo events! That's right...bareback bronc, saddle bronc, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie down roping, cowgirl barrell racing, and even breakaway roping! Also at the rodeo, there will be plenty of concessions, vendors, and pony rides! All children age 6 and under are FREE! Last year's Community Sale for Leukemia was a huge success and the 4th Annual looks to be bigger and better! The event takes place at Methodist Medical Plaza East at 9660 East Washington from 8am-3pm and promises to have a wide variety of items to choose from, and all will be priced to sell! Make sure you make plans to do some shopping and help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society here in Indiana. Stu will stop by from 9am-10am with WFMS goodies and great country music.

Eli Welch Memorial Golf Outing

Get your friends together and plan on attending the 5th Annual Eli Welch Memorial Golf Outing at Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton. Registration will be from 12-1pm and a shotgun start will be at 1pm. The tournament will consists of best ball and prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin as well as both a woman and men's longest drive. Raffle tickets will be sold for your chance to win some great prizes. Eli Welch was a third grade teacher and all money raised will go to children in need. Interested? Need more info? The 3 day festival features a variety of family oriented activities such as hot air balloons, powered parachutes, huge LEGO displays, model train displays, entertainment booth, various craft and vendor booths, and more! Pound the Pavement

Last year, close to 500 people participated in Pound the Pavement, and this year, we're hoping you and your family can participate! The registration will take place from 6:45am-8am and the 5K Run/Walk/Stroll will start at 8am. There will also be a health fair with cholesterol screenings, bone density tests, blood pressure checks, and information for your family on healthy eating and lifestyles. All money raised will go to the Coach Carey Foundation which will assist high school seniors with college scholarships. Oh, and pets are welcome to participate with you!

Plan on firing up your iron horse and participating in the 3rd Annual Indy West H.O.G. Chapter MDA Ride! Hope to see you and your family at this year's Morristown Derby Days! Loads of fun and activities for the entire family! Parades, vendor booths, games, and don't forget the actual derby races! While at Derby Days, make sure to stop by the Lions Club tent by Morristown school on US 52 and eat lunch and/or dinner at their fish fry. This is an annual fundraiser to assist the less fortunate in the community. Money raised will be used to purchase eyeglasses for children, helping families at Christmas, and also help award 5 scholarships each year. Stu will stop by the Lions Club tent from 5-6pm on Friday.

Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church is having a craft and bake sale, and all money raised will assist the St. Vincent New Hope Group Homes, which assist women with brain trauma injuries. The proceeds will purchase Christmas gifts for the women at the 2 St. Vincent group homes. It's the first Saturday of the month and you can find the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew at Eden United Methodist Church's monthly breakfast! Flat Rock Fireman's Festival

Hope to see you and your family at the Flat Rock Fireman's Festival! This is a two day event that runs from 5pm-10pm on Friday, and 6am-11pm on Saturday. The event will be held at the fire station in Flat Rock, just 6 miles east off the Flat Rock/Edinburgh exit, and will feature a fish fry both days, a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, flea markets, and live entertainment. Always a ton of things to do at the Bears of the Blue River Festival at the public square in Shelbyville. A & A VFD Fish Fry and Demolition Derby

Make plans to "hang out" at the A&A Volunteer Department Fire Barn at State Road 42 and Walters Road in Eminence for some great food and great entertainment! The fire barn will start frying fish on Friday night at 4pm, as well as have live bands and different types of entertainment all evening. On Saturday, there will be food all day long, a martial arts performance, a truck and tractor pull, and a demolition derby at 7pm. Also, make sure you bid on the items at the silent auction while you're there! Stu will stop by the event from 12-1pm on Saturday! Hours of the event are 8am-7pm on Thursday and Friday, and 8am-3pm on Saturday. As always, there will be a huge selection of quality products PRICED TO SELL! Make plans to stop by, the church is located at 3233 W. 166th Street, and all money raised goes towards different missions and community programs. The garage sale will go, rain or shine, and there will also be a community vendors and various booths in the parking lot as well. Dallas and Reid's Ride

Time to fire up those "iron horses" and "metal ponies" and take part in Dallas and Reid's Ride. Registration for the ride will take place at the Plainfield Eagles at 5556 East US 40 from 9-11am. The police escorted 50 mile ride will depart from the lodge at 11:15am. Free t-shirts and food, while they last, during registration. Make sure you plan to stick around after the ride as well, as there will be a bike show, vendors, field events, live bands, prizes, and more. See you there!

Trends/SOBC StarLinks Open Golf Outing

It's Frankton Heritage Days, and the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew is headed that way! This 3 day event will be held at 850 North and 575 West, yup, the big cowfield! This festival will have rides, crafts, antique tractor pulls, a parade and more as they celebrate their 34th year! And make sure you make it out Saturday for the mud wrestling tournament! GPA Indy Chapter Annual Picnic

GPA stands for Greyhound Pets of America, and the Indianapolis Chapter will be hosting the Annual Reunion Picnic and you're invited! The event will be held at Boone County 4H Fairgrounds in Lebanon and will feature a silent auction, vendor booths, games, contests, and food and drink. McDonald's 3rd Annual 5K Walk/Run

Why don't you and your family stop by the McDonalds at 121 Marlin Drive and participate in the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk? Ronald McDonald will be there again to visit with the kids, face painting, kids crafts, and a variety of other activities! Registration forms can be picked up at the store starting on Aug. 15th. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will stop by from 2-3pm.

Middletown United Methodist Church Annual Fish Fry
Saturday, October 4, 2008 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Why don't you load the family in the car and swing by Middletown United Methodist Church at 825 High St. in Middletown (Home of Flynnville Train) for their annual fish fry? Great food that consists of Dan's Fish, fried or baked potatos, green beans, and lots of home-made pies and cakes! Middletown United Methodist Church will be serving from 4:30-7:30pm, and Stu will stop by from 4:30-7:30pm.

3rd Annual Daleville Autumnfest

Daleville's the place to be this weekend! Make plans to stop by the 3rd Annual Daleville Autumnfest! This event runs all weekend and gets bigger and better every year. The Daleville Autumnfest is held at 8019 Walnut St. in Daleville, and will feature a Queen contest, a talent show, garage sales all over Daleville, vendors, crafts, Dan's fish fry, street dances, and more! The WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew will stop by for the fun on Friday, Oct. 10th from 5-6pm.

JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

Looking for an event the entire family can participate in and make a difference? Make plans to be a part of the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at Military Park downtown. This family friendly walk will be taking registrations from 9am-10:30am, and will have face painting, a bounce house, soap box derby cars, mascots, field games for the kids, live entertainment, and vendor booths. Stu will swing by with the WFMS Friends and Neighbors crew during registration from 9-10am.

2nd Annual Haunted Cabin
Friday, October 24, 2008 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Are you brave enough to visit the Haunted Cabin this Halloween? If so, stop by the American Legion, Post 117, in Pendleton and take a stroll through more than 14 different rooms in the Haunted Cabin! The Haunted Cabin will be open from 8:30-12midnight on Friday night and 7pm-1:00am on Saturday night, and will run Oct. 24th and 25th, and the following weekend, Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st. Not so sure about it? Then stop by the first hour of the Saturday night dates, and you can venture through the Haunted Cabin with the lights on! Make plans for you and the family to stop by...........IF YOU DARE!

WFMS Cruise with JD Cannon
