
Cumulus Media, home of WFMS, WJJK and i94 is seeking part-time interns for Spring and Summer. Cumulus is looking for enthusiastic, eager and detail-oriented individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to think on one’s feet. Applicants must represent station in a positive manner at station events. Applicants must be available to work a variable 20 hour week including evenings, weekends and holidays.
To be an internal team member and on-the-streets spokesperson that represents WFMS, WJJK and i94 in a positive manner by learning the basic functions of a promotions member and to participate in the street and community presence at numerous station events throughout the summer.
Education:
Attending a college, university or vocational school for credit through their school’s guidelines. Applicant must be able to commit 10-30 hours a week to this internship position depending on credit hours.
Experience:
None required.
May be required to drive a vehicle as part of the promotions team; must pass Drivers Background Check.
Skills:
Attention to detail, creative problem solving ability, good organizational and people skills, versatile personality and flexible work hours including some nights and weekends. Application must have basic typing and computer skills.
Physical:
Ability to sit, stand, drive, lift up to 50 pounds and have ample energy to execute events and promotions.
Mental:
Excellent command of spoken and written communications. Ability to grasp new concepts, ability to work with deadlines and with several projects simultaneously. Ability to hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
This position reports to the Promotion and Events Director of the stations.
Ability to learn and implement projects within the framework established by the station.
What qualifies as satisfactory performance?
All interested applicants must submit a letter from advisor/ professor indicating the internship will count for college credit, copy of current transcript, resume, and competed applications forms. Interns must be currently enrolled in a college or university. Internships are unpaid and will count for college credit.
