I’m a native Hoosier…born and raised in Indiana. So imagine my surprise this year when I learned that the Dairy Bar at the Indiana State Fair is NOT called the Dairy Barn. I’m sure I’ve always called it the Dairy Barn (until recently) and I know I’m not alone. This is the last weekend for the Indiana State Fair, and here are a few Dairy Bar facts for you. This state fair staple is a part of the non-profit American Dairy Association of Indiana, and they give their volunteers who staff the Dairy Bar during the state fair all of the profits. There are 34 different organizations who volunteer and help support their causes through the profits made during the fair. So when you go this weekend, enjoy your milkshake and grilled cheese knowing that you are helping to support organizations within the community.
And please stop calling it the Dairy Barn. ;0
Have a great weekend!!
