We all remember where we were when we learned that our country was under attack 16 years ago. It is a moment we will never forget, and one that changed thousands of lives forever. It was also the moment our country united together. For many of us, we wanted to be with our families, as we often do when bad things happen. We watched others take time to pay it forward and spread random acts of kindness to fellow strangers. We heard countless stories of bravery and selfless acts as victims were rescued from Ground Zero. And we knew within minutes of the attacks that our country would never be the same.
16 years later, let’s remember those whose lives were lost. Let’s also remember that it shouldn’t take a tragedy on our soil to show kindness to our fellow Americans. Be kind because it’s the right thing to do.
Now, tomorrow…always.
