The government shut down has been in effect for over a month now. There’s not a lot of positive things associated with this. But, there have been a lot of local spots that have stepped up to help furloughed employees. Indy Humane is the latest to offer some help.
Government employees with a valid ID can show up on Saturday and get food for their fur-loughed friends. Sorry, it was there and I had to. From 10 AM to 2 PM on January 26 they’ll be handing out dog and cat food.
Workers can visit Indy Humane’s Welfare Center at 456 North Holmes Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222. Only federal employees will be allowed in, and they must show their government identification card to participate.
