Smartest Hoosier Ever 4/19

Q: This contains 26 grams of sugar — about six teaspoons.

A: One Cadbury Creme Egg.

While we know most chocolate is full of sugar, sometimes we need to see the facts laid bare in order to really understand just how much of the sweet stuff we’re consuming. With Easter coming this weekend and chocolate lovers preparing for a sweet feast, Hoosiers are being warned about how much sugar is in Cadbury Creme Eggs.  While the chocolate egg is quite small, 173 calories per egg, egg treat contains 26 grams of sugar — adding up to be six teaspoons of sugar. Mainly because of the delicious gooey, fondant filling rather than just having the hollow chocolate shell.  Yikes!

Congratulations to Rachel Dawes of Crawfordsville who is today’s Smartest Hoosier Ever and won tickets to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari for knowing this.  Play and win again each weekday at 3:10 on 95.5 WFMS.
