Q: This is illegal in Indiana and 34 other states. What?
A: To sell lemonade at a stand without a permit
This doesn’t even make sense. If your child doesn’t have a permit or even a license to sell this seemingly innocent and extremely refreshing summer beverage, they could get in trouble. Which unfortunately could result in a fine, for which your lemonade money likely wouldn’t be able to pay. Country Time, the famous lemonade brand, is “taking a stand for lemonade stands” in the hopes of making them legal in all 50 states without needing a permit or license to avoid fees and fines. But there’s more…they’re also providing “Legal-Ade” to anyone who has children who have tasted said injustice in 2018 or 2019. They’ll contribute up to $30,000 worth of “ade” to help families pay off these fines. You’ll simply send in a photo of your fine with an explanation of what happened and follow the rest of these instructions.
