To preface, the list is actually Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums rather than 10. But, when it comes to the top 10 albums on the list, there’s only one in the country genre.
That honor went to Pistol Annies’ “Interstate Gospel” which came in at number nine.
The magazine/website said the album “remains a testament to the profundity of unfussy quotidian storytelling.” They go on to call Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley and Miranda Lambert “three of the sharpest songwriters in any genre.” Agreed.
Kacey Musgraves almosttt made the top 10 with “Golden Hour.” It was named the 11th best album of the 2010s. It also came in at number three on Billboard’s version ranking the top 10 country albums of the 2010s.
