Martina McBride’s husband John has been involved in a lawsuit for the past year and a half. It was brought on by a former employee named Richard Hanson.

According to Pop Culture, Hanson previously worked for Blackbird Studio and he was awarded nearly $500,000. The lawsuit claimed that unpaid interns at the studio were being treated unfairly.

Interns were allegedly doing personal errands for the McBrides, including buying groceries and delivering food orders. Hanson also claimed that one intern was sent to check on a possible home invasion with a handgun even though they had no experience with a firearm.

Hanson contacted the U.S. Department of Labor and was subsequently fired when the McBrides found out.
