Cedar Point Offering Free Admission In May…Kind Of

Cedar Point

Today I learned that Cedar Point admission used to be free. You could just walk into the amusement park, but then you had to pay to get on each ride. To celebrate their 150th anniversary, the park is taking it back to the good ol’ days by once again offering free admission.

Prior to the their actually opening on May 9, Cedar Point will host a Just for Fun Weekend. But, while you can walk in, you won’t actually be able to ride any of the rides without coughing up some dough.

For $20.20 you can buy an unlimited ride wristband. No tickets will be sold on site during the actual weekend.

They anticipate the free tickets selling out so they’re encouraging people to get them ASAP.  According to Clevescene, the hours will be limited to 12 PM – 6 PM both days.
