It’s been a rough couple of months for a lot of businesses, but especially so for Pier 1 Imports.
Earlier this year, the company announced their bankruptcy filing. They were set to close hundreds of their stores, but the Indianapolis-area locations were spared.
Then, the pandemic hit and all of their remaining locations were shuttered temporarily. Now it appears those temporary closures won’t be so temporary.
Some of the 500+ plus locations are planning to reopen in late May. They will get rid of remaining stock and accept returns for 30 days. But by fall of this year, all stores will be closed permanently.
RIP Pier 1.
