While I’ve shared a few updates on our facebook page, I started taking up running in 2020. When things started to shut down, I realized this was the perfect time to refocus on my health and fitness.
First I started going for walks, then started mixing in running intervals and training at Indianapolis Healthplex. It’s been a great experience so far and I recently accomplished a huge goal of mine: running an actual race! I actually exceeded that goal too as I originally just wanted to run a 5K. Instead, I finished the Drumstick Dash, which is 4.6 miles!
If you haven’t been, I highly recommend checking out their facilities. They have over 150,000 square feet filled with state-of-the-art equipment and a great staff to help you work towards your goals. The ample space makes social distancing a breeze. They’re just ten minutes away from downtown as well!
What’s next? Definitely am going to do some more strength training this winter and maybe work towards a half marathon in 2021! Regardless, it’s been a great journey so far and look forward to sharing more about it with you in the future.
