This was a big year for everyone, but one band changed its name. Lady Antebellum became “Lady A” back in June 2020 as a way to distance from the slavery-era connotations that come with the word “antebellum,” which more literally refers to “a time before a war.”
They met with Tamron Hall to talk about the change and the importance of continuing the conversation about race and social injustices.
