The Fourth of July was kind of a bummer last year…unless you were my neighbor who clearly spent a lot of money on illegal fireworks. But I digress…

Most of the traditional festivities and public ceremonies were canceled due to the pandemic. But this year, it looks like almost everything is coming back—except Freedom Fest. There will still be fireworks downtown though, they’re just moving to a different location.

Downtown Indy Inc. and Visit Indy have taken over the Independence Day celebration in 2021. The fireworks will now be shot off from the 500 North Meridian office building, according to IBJ.

Because of COVID, there won’t be a large gathering this year, but families are able to find their own spots to watch downtown. The fireworks are slated to start at 10 PM.
