As a kid, I was always excited to go to Applebee’s because it meant a chicken quesadilla and an Oreo milkshake. But, when the restaurant slimmed down its menu because of the pandemic, the dessert got the axe.
That is, until Walker Hayes went viral on TikTok with his song “Fancy Like.” There’s a 99% chance you’ve heard the song and seen the dance. The lyrics to the chorus are as follows:
Yeah, we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night
Got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake
Get some whipped cream on the top too
Two straws, one check, girl, I got you
Not only is the shake back, but Applebee’s also created a “Fancy Like” date night menu.
I don’t know about Walker, but I consider this an absolute win. Apparently this is just for a limited time, so get that Oreo shake, with or without the whipped cream, while ya can.
