A message about LYN House – Kevin Freeman

Every one has someone in life they meet that leaves an impact. Who is that person for you? For me, it is a 7th grade student named Rashaun whom I met at the LYN House.

Every Tuesday afternoon, I have the honor of tutoring this young man, who is working hard to improve his grades at school. I have seen firsthand how Rashaun relies on the LYN House. I have also come to rely on hearing him tell the greatest stories with his incredible sense of humor. (I joke that someday I will either be working or voting for Rashaun!)

Rashaun asked me to share this special message to you:

Thank you for helping the LYN House. I’ve done some fun things at LYN House this year. Here are some of them: cooking camp, art camp, photography, going to the pumpkin patch & carving pumpkins with a professional.

Every Tuesday & Thursday I come to tutoring at the LYN House. I believe this has helped my grades by a landslide. I use to get C’s and F’s. Now I get A’s and B’s. If you believe that’s too miraculous, Heidi can send you an old and new copy of my report card.

In conclusion, thank you for making the LYN House possible. The LYN House really helps people. I’m living proof of that. Please keep doing what you do best and let the LYN House continue on.
