Sometimes public polls become amusing. A poll to name a 300 million dollar research vessel resulted in BOATY McBOATFACE with the most tallies. An advisory board gets the final say, but we have laughed until our stomachs hurt over this name.
And there may have been snorting…
The man who suggested Boaty McBoatface says he did it for fun and has since apologized for the controversy. We can barely say the name without giggling.
