You’ve likely heard by now that Matt Lauer, a Today show staple for over 23 years now, has been terminated from NBC after a colleague reported to management Monday evening that Matt had sexually assaulted her during the 2016 Rio Olympics. She wishes to remain anonymous.
According to NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack, a review found the incident clearly violated company standards and they have “reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” NBC shared this morning that this is the first complaint filed against Lauer, who has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
