The Colts did not pull out the win on Sunday, but Indy fans all know that when it comes to pre-season staying healthy is the real "win" in the Colts' eyes.
The Bills were able to leave Lucas Oil Stadium with a 44-20 win, playing their franchise rookie-QB for the entire first half – along with several other starters. On the other hand, the Colts allowed their starters 2-3 series before bringing in the backup players for the remainder of the game.
For the Bills, this was a pretty encouraging showcase for their coveted QB, EJ Manuel, who looked pretty stellar with his 57% completion percentage and a TD in the 2nd quarter. They seemed to have made the right draft pick, as he showed a lot of signs of his potential to grow within their system.
The Colts saw a a nice outing from TY Hilton, who made 3 catches for 61 yards and did a solid job of spreading out the ground attack between 6 different rushers for a team total of 72 yards on 16 attempts.
As all Indy fans know, a pre-season loss has often been a good omen for the Colts. During what is considered to be the best of the Colts' recent years (2005-2011) the Colts were just 5-25 in the pre-season, with 2 trips to the Super Bowl and one Super Bowl victory. Let's just hope that trend continues.
