It’s that time of the year! PSL-everything! I can go without pumpkin-spiced deodorant and pumpkin-spiced toothpaste, though I NEED a pumpkin-spiced latte! (Yes, it’s a need, not a want!) There’s only one problem, PSL’s are loaded with sugar and I’m trying to make healthier choices. That pumpkin sauce tastes amazing for a reason!
So I did some research and modified some recipes. Check out this healthier version (no sugar!) pumpkin sauce and it’s only 5 ingredients! (One is water, so does that even count!?)
Healthy No-Sugar Pumpkin Sauce
2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 1/4 C Water
1 Cup Monkfruit Sweetener (I got mine at Target!)
1/2 C Pumpkin Puree’ (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Tip: If you don’t want to make a sugar-free version, you can replace the monkfruit sweetener with brown sugar.

Directions:
1) In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add pumpkin pie spice. Swirl around until fragrant.
2) Add water and monkfruit sweetener (or brown sugar) to pan, bringing to a simmer. Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
3) Stir in vanilla extract & pumpkin puree (about a minute).
4) Allow to cool, then pour into your favorite container to keep refrigerated. Lasts up to a week!
Tip: Shake or stir before use, as the pumpkin will settle. Add a couple of tablespoons to your favorite hot or iced coffee! ENJOY! ~Deb
