Hi…Jim here. We were talking on the air the other day about Americas love for the hot dog. It’s a summer favorite. Nearly 7 billion hot dogs will be consumed between Memorial Day and labor Day.
I thought I might share with you the simple yet delicious way that I prepare the hot dog. First, start with all beef hot dogs. The pork ones are good but the beef add a bit sophistication to the hot dog meal. Next, have a six pack of your favorite beer in a cooler next to the grill. I combine both boiling and grilling of the hot dog. Take a small pan and pour one of the beers into it and place it on the grill. Take 8-10 hot dogs and cut a small slit into each then place in the pan. Add one can of beer. While cooking, go ahead and crack open a cold one. Let the hot dogs come almost to a boil and then remove from the grill. While waiting for the grill to get to about medium heat go ahead and open another cold frosty beer…after all you still have 3 left. Place hot dogs on the grill and cook until plump and grill marks appear. Its a hot summer day and another icy cold one would be nice. Go ahead you’ve earned it. Remove hot dogs from the grill and let cool a touch while placing your favorite condiments on the table. Let’s see…whats missing…Oh yeah a cold wet foaming beer. Now sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Add baked beans as a side and let the fun begin.
That’s my recipe for a great summer meal…where’s my last beer? KEVIN!?!?
