Garth and Trisha Light up Indy; Convert New Fans

Here’s the deal…

We love Garth. And we love Trisha. We LOOOOOOVED their World Tour when it lit up Indy this past weekend. You know what we really love? People who told us they weren’t country music fans, and certainly not Garth fans, who left the show…you guessed it…FANS!!!

Garth pours his heart and soul into his shows, from spraying the crowd with bottles of water, to dangerously jumping on equipment, to taking requests from random guests in the audience, his shows are so entertaining that if you blink, you might miss something. (Or you might kick your drink over, like Deb did.) If you saw the show, you will likely agree that Garth’s energy level is AH-MAZ-ING!!! The tour is definitely a bucket list item, and Garth says as long as Indy will have him, he will be back.

Backstage, Garth’s voice was raspy in between his TWO shows on Saturday, and he was as laid-back as they get, kneeling on the carpet to chat with radio staff. We tried to get him to sit on the couch, but Trisha laughed and said, ‘He’s fine. He does this all the time, prefers the floor for some reason.’ Garth talked Peyton Manning and the Colts, how his band and crew (who have all been with him 20+ years!) really deserve all of the credit and any awards he wins, for what they sacrifice (missing relative’s birthdays, time with family) to be on the road for nearly 3 years of this tour. Trisha talked about how they may get tired, but the energy from the audience carries them through each show and they wouldn’t trade it for anything. Before long, Trisha joked that she had to get Garth ‘off to hair and makeup’ so he could take the stage in mere minutes. See that hoodie Garth is wearing in the photo above? He soon appeared on stage in Wranglers and a denim shirt, breaking the denim on denim ‘rule,’ but hey, it’s Garth. He gets a free pass, right?

Garth has earned his CMA Entertainer of the Year nomination, and then some! Hoosiers are sad to see him go, but we will cherish the memories. (And hopefully it won’t be another 21 years!)
