Today is National Pet Day, and although we all love our cats and dogs, one pet that does not get equal time is the goldfish. Goldfish have a reputation as short-lived creatures, but given proper care, they can live as long as 30 years in captivity. The oldest captive goldfish ever recorded was won at a fair in 1956 and died in 1999 at age 43.
Congratulations to Joel Cooper of Marion, Indiana, today’s Smartest Hoosier Ever and as such won a pair of passes to enjoy Opening Day 2019 at King’s Island. Listen all this week at 3:10 to win.
If you’re a proud goldfish parent, then here are some tips to keep them living longer.
