Remember back in 2015 when Katy Perry and the sharks performed the halftime show at the Super Bowl? Well, Katy wanted Dolly Parton to join her during the performance. But, obviously that didn’t happen.

Dolly is finally opening up about why she chose not to do it. And it’s not because she doesn’t like Katy Perry—quite the opposite, she really likes Katy.

The real reason? Her husband wasn’t doing well health wise. According to Taste of Country she said, “He was kind of puny and I couldn’t leave him, so I couldn’t do it.” Which sounds 100% like something Dolly would say.

Maybe we can get her in as the 2022 performer. Let’s start that write-in campaign!
